I don't know that the C310A works with AirPrint. I see C310 on the list but not C310A.

Assuming your printer is Airprint compatible (you can call HP and check) make sure your iPhone is connected to your WiFi (the same one the printer is connected to).
My Printer registration papers/booklets/CD states HP Photosmart Prem C310 Series and the serial number when registering the product states C310a so I will take your advice and call HP. Any advice if it is the correct printer? The printer and my Iphone are both connected to the same wifi network.
From which application are you trying to print?
Go to the panel of the printer and in the setup see if there is a firmware update available and install it. Either way reset your printer, iPhone and router then try again.
photos, one note, and any other printable application other than the Hp eprint&bizz app.

Had the same problem with the connection with IOS devices to the HP 310.
1st of all you have to check if your wi-fi router support AirPlay.
2nd check that printer and IOS device are connected to the same Network.
3rd check the settings of your printer:
UPnP - is not necessary and can be switched OFF
Bonjour - should be switched ON (Can specify Name as you Like)
Internet Printing Protocol - should be switched ON (In the available fields name and description of the printer can be specified as ii will be shown on the IOS device)
I got IPhone and IPad working with printer only when both Bonjour and IPP are ON together. MacBook can see printer with only Bonjour service ON.
