Apple does not recommend any chemicals be used on the oleophobic coated iDevice screens as they can damage the coating. Just use a microfiber cloth to clean the screen. Few drops of plain water on a soft cloth, not wet, can be used for stubbern smudges.

I use iKlear regularly. It is sold in Apple stores and is safe on oleo phobic coated screens.

it's snake oil.
It's water with a food preservative/antifungal agent in it. https://www.klearscreen.com/MSDS.aspx

Actually, methylparaben is a naturally-occurring chemical often used as a food preservative. It is used in cosmetics because it leaves a thin, waxy coating that can act as a protectant for skin, etc. I use iKlear on every monitor I have, including iPad 2. Never had any problems.
Thanks for the input, but I'm still confused because I'm getting conflicting answers. The official Apple.com word is just to use a microfiber cloth, dry or slightly damp with water. When I was exchanging my New IPad at the Apple store for a better screen display, the employee sprayed the screen to clean it. The iKlear must not harm the iPad then, if the Apple store is using it and some of you have had good results with it.
It is really your call Suze, but I have never had a problem with my original iPad using a MicroFiber cloth I bought at MicroCenter, can find them in grocery stores also, and when something doesn't come off easily, a drop of water on a clean tissue. Then quickly dry with the cloth. Never have had anything on the surface I could not handle that way. And that is consistent with the Apple statement of care.
I think they say only use a damp cloth because they don't want to be liable when people over do it with sprays like IKlear. It's very easy for people to over do it with these chemicals by spraying into the open ports and breaking their devices
