How can I maje Safari open my home page in sted of the last page that I was at?

Turning off the Lion "resume" feature should help...
Open System Preferences > General
Deselect: Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps
Restart your Mac.
You may need to reset your Homepage from Safari > Preferences - General

Not sure which, "folder" you are referring to ??
You can access your Bookmarks by clicking the Bookmarks icon top left side of the Safari window and edit folders there.

Just open any folder in the finder and from the menu on the top choose - view>show status bar
This should return this part of your UI to the way it previously was
Fixed my problem, just made sure that I shut down and it was in effect and went to my home page.
