I have tried removing the account and adding it back on Mail in my iMac and still get the same issue - it keeps rejecting the password.

Then my choice would be to reinstall Lion.

I am trying to talk with their Senior Tech Support. I will post back if they know anything.

I would suggest to wait until Apple realises this is their issue and fix it. For the time being, use icloud.com from browser.

My advice stays the same, (to the OP) reinstall Lion, it's fast and easy.

I'm having this problem also. Mail on all my macs cannot connect, but my iphone can. My ipad however cannot. Its really frustrating and trying to use express lane support is really unintuitive. Reinstalling the OS is not the problem. One of the apple mail servers is the problem. I wish someone at apple would listen.

We can only wish ... I am on the phone waiting to speak with their so called Senior Support Advisor for more than an hour.

Same issue here, as of the last day the only way i can access my .mac email account is via a browser.

iPad, iPhone, imac, macbook air - all same problem, rejects my password even though no settings have changed since yesterday. I'm not going to reinstall the various OS's, I also don't believe that's the issue.

UPDATE - receiving mail after updating to new password requirements

I discovered on another forum that iCloud requires a stronger password than i was using, since resetiing (here: https://iforgot.apple.com ) i can get email in mail on iphone, ipad & macbook air running Lion, but iMac with Snow Leopard still no good.

This morning I talked with Apple Tech Support and they submitted a ticket/form for their engineers to look at. Hopefully we will hear back from them soon.

I've been having the same problem for the past couple of hours on all of my devices and there are a lot of other recent threads here reporting the same problem. I think it's safe to say that there is a problem with the iCloud service that will continue until Apple identifies it and fixes it.
