is itunes using 24 bit yet ?
or still using 16 bit ?
or still using 16 bit ?
On 32-bit systems, iTunes for Windows and the related software components are 32-bit. On 64-bit systems, iTunes and related software components are a mixture of 32-bit and 64-bit componentry (the 32-bit componentry being run on your Windows-on-Windows-64 subsystem).
i am not talking about 32 bit windows or 64 bit windows or anything.
I'm asking question about itunes audio quality aka 16 bit or 24 bit.

Zero,
The songs sold in the iTunes Store are 16 bit, which as you know is the CD standard.
You can play 24 bit tracks in iTunes, if they are in Apple Lossless, WAV, or AIFF. Most 24 bit audio sold in download stores is in FLAC, which needs to be converted before use in iTunes.
what about quality compared to music cd ? is it worse better or the same ?
since i heared music cd's are far higher bitrate and lossless.
Zero,
If you are asking about the iTunes music store, all songs sold there are in AAC/256 format, which is less than CD quality.
K i just wanted to known since i'm not using crappy speakers anymore but onkyo tx-nr609 with jamo s606 hcs3 speakers and 2 yamaha subwoofers.
would i still however notice quality difference with this kindy quality speakers ?
Zero,
For most people under most listening conditions, AAC/256 or MP3/256 is fine. However, if you have good ears, audiophile-level equipment, and acoustically good surroundings, it may not be.
If you want to try it out for your own situation, buy a couple of 24-bit tracks from hdtracks.com and do your own comparisons.
they dont accept paypal only credit card so i cant buy anything on their which bassicly ******* me off.
nvm just read on their faq that they do have paypal dont known why i did't see option before.
nvm again it does't have any music i'm looking for............. sigh
i hate music industry and their dinosaur market model.....

There really is not much 24-bit selection out there to buy. Besides hdtracks.com you will see some download stores that sell 24-bit under the name "FLAC-HD." There are also stores that sell CD-quality files, which are 16-bit but lossless. However, far and away, online music retailing is dominated by lossy tracks in AAC/256 and MP3/256.
oh well wont bother buying music online anymore only on a disc from store.
i wish the music industry would have learned from the gaming industry by now like steam or origin etc. but guess they did't learn anything at all yet.
this world is so depressing and greedy........
CDs are 44.1 KHz 16-bit, just in case you didn't know. If you want 24-bit, you'll have to buy DVD-Audio disks, and those are by no means available for all album releases, or even a majority.
Regards.
yes i known but what i am especialy woried about is bitrate effecting quality to much since audio cd's are lossless i'm thinking off just buying the CD and then ripping it to my computer instead in lossless format.
quality is't something i want to hold back on.
