I have a brand new iPad 3, but whenever I push on the volume button it's rocks back and forth. Is this normal? Meaning that the volume button slides up and down. You can feel it sliding whenever you adjust the volume.
The button is a rocking switch, it's supposed to rock back and forth when you press on it. Do you mean the actual physical button moves?
If the button seems to be moving unnaturally, you need to return it. It's defective.
Sorry, I meant the volume keys slide back and forth. When you press down to change the volume you could feel it sliding (slightly) in the metal housing. It slides up to the top and the bottom.
Did you get a new one? Because I have the same problem.
I have the iPad Mini and the volume buttons don't slide, but if you tap them, you can hear it make noise. So is think this is a common thing you're having.
