Is there a certain configuration to set your computer to after upgrading ram from 512mb of ram to 2gigs?

In a G5, the memory must be installed in size pairs from the inside out.
A four slot G4 will have memory installed 2-1 1-2, an 8 slot G5 will have memory installed 4-3-2-1 1-2-3-4.
Of course, the slots are arranged in banks, vertically, above and below center of the board, with the innermost slot of each bank being #1.
Ok so basically RAM is installed computer automatically recognizes the new RAM, RESTART, Then im good to go? nothing else to set in computer??
Correct,as long as it's Mac Compatible RAM & installed in opposing pairs. 🙂
