How do I share my photo as altered (WITH cropping, effects, color adjustments, etc)?

I occasionally send snapshots to people in e-mail. I use the "Share" button in iPhoto and choose e-mail, usually picking the "medium" size.

I want this to send my photos as altered. It always sends the original.

So I spend a while cropping the photo, correcting the color balance, adding effects, etc. -- and nobody except me ever sees that. How do I get the photo that I actually want them to see to turn up in the e-mail message? Surely I shouldn't have to go through the hassle of File:Exporting each photo...

Option 1

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.

If that fails:

Option 2

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.

Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

I'm going to try option #1, but first I need to make a secure backup.

Simply creating the new (test) library seems to have helped. The cropping is now being sent to Apple Mail (I send photos through Apple Mail rather than iPhoto), although effects (like sepia toning) are not. Perhaps creating the new library reset some bit somewhere.

It works correctly with no panel, no matter which panel was open immediately before. (I doubt that it matters, but I'm using sepia tone on a randomly selected photo [different ones on different days] in my tests, because it's obvious whether the attached photo is brightly colored or brown.)
