I can only see 'computer' and 'settings' options on my Apple TV 2. There is no 'Internet' option.

Check to see if your IP is configured.

Select 'Settings', 'General', 'Network', 'Wi-Fi' your network should appear on the right side of Wi-Fi. If not then select your network and go in to 'Configure IP'. It should be set to 'Automatic' unless you wish to have a 'Manual' IP address.

if the router use mac address filtering you need to add the atv's mac address to the valid list

If you updated to the latest software update the UI changed. It is no longer menu-driven. The contents of "Internet" are now displayed within the app-looking icons. i.e. YouTube, Netflix, etc.

Same problem here with Apple TV 3. After one hour of operation the main menu is "lost". Up to that point, video streaming, libraries and store are available without problems.

After full reset to factory defaults all the icons are back. Network connection is available (Airport Extreme w/fixed IP, ATV w/fixed IP).

Home Sharing works only with one of my 2 macs, although both are running Lion and same version of iTunes. Airport Extreme has been updated to current firmware.

Being an apple user for 7 years now, this is my first really frustrating apple hardware experience.

Exactly same problem here, I have no filters in my modem, airplay is working fine. however, there are only those 2 icons of computer and settings in ATV 3.

Note: Am located in Saudi Arabia now, and my itunes account is US..

Have the same problem with my Apple TV2 .. upgraded to 5.0 and it now shows only Computers and Setting... tried changing the ip setting manually... still no luck.. appreciate any help... thnx

To help deduce this issue, have you tried via wired connection versus wifi?

With others having similar issues it may help to find any commonalities, such as ISP, router, wifi settings, etc. From what it sounds like things work for a short while and then stop. This indicates a loss of Internet connectivity. If it is ISP-related it might be worth troubleshooting using an OpenDNS IP for the DNS entry (see below)

I just had the same thing happen. I have been running 5.0 since the day it came out and haven't had any issues until today. Woke up my Apple TV 2 to find the see the same image Makerickash posted. I'm using OpenDNS so I know that wasn't the problem. I was lucky though, just restarted the device and everything went back to normal.

Problem was resolved just after apple released 5.1 for iphone and iPad. Eventhough i did not update any of my apple devices.

Same issue for me. Bought Apple TV3 in Australia last month and using it in Philippines. I too can only see Computer and settings as screenshot above.

Tried switching everything off and restarting but same.

A frustrating problem with a somewhat easy fix. - Had to search online for about

20 mins for a solution!

I have found the real answer to this problem. Go to Settings > iTunes Store > Location. Set your location to the United States or wherever you reside. You should now be able to see all the other button on the home screen.
