The att.net POP server “pop.att.yahoo.com” rejected the password for user

I have read multiple discussions regarding this issue & have yet to fix my issue. I have spent 2 hours on the phone on Sun & another hour last night with AT&T Tech Support Tier 1 & Tier 2 trying to resolve my issue. I am getting a pop up box stating my att.net POP server “pop.att.yahoo.com” rejected the password for user! Has anyone found a fix? I wonder if I uninstall my mail program & re-install if that will help. Has any done that to see if that fixes the problem?

AT&T support is pretty awful and even their website is incorrect according to what I have read here.

Try this in Mail > Preferences > Accounts

Incoming mail server pop.att.yahoo.com

User name: your complete email address including what follows the @

Outgoing mail server: smtp.att.yahoo.com

Port 465

In your "advanced" tab check "secure connection"

Port 995

Authentication: password

Hope this helps
