Q: OS X Lion - Airport Utility versions 6 and 5.6

I have Airport Utility 6 and when I install version 5.6 it doesn't appear in the Applications/Utility folder as described in this article. Version 6 shows that it was updated at the installation time for version 5.6 run still runs as version 6.

I need the older version for my airport express bases.

Suggest that you try to download and install AirPort Utility 5.6 for Mac OS X Lion again to see if things will "stick" this time.

You should see both AirPort Utility 6.0 and AirPort Utility 5.6 in your Utilities folder. Select the version that you need.

If this is not successful after a few tries, you may need to re-install the Lion operating system again. Check with Apple Support first before you do this to see if there might be any work arounds for this issue.

    Thanks Bob.

I did try one more time and lo and behold the 5.6 version appeared in my Utilities folder - magic. I guess perserverence pays off sometimes!
