You can remove email addresses on iPad 2. here is how.

open a blank email as if you are going to send it to the address that you want to DELETE.

START to type in the email address that you wish to DELETE.

a drop down window will appear with something that says: recent AND you'll see the email address there. There is a small blue circle with a white arrow in it. click it.

when you click it, another thing drops down that says REMOVE FROM RECENTS in red. Click that. And, there you have it. That is how to remove email addresses from your iPad 2.

Repeat the above steps for each address that you wish to remove. You can only remove one at a time.

Delete contacts from the contacts app. Find the contact that you want to remove - tap on it - tap the Edit button and then tap Delete Contact at the bottom of the window. You may have to swipe down to the bottom of the window if you don't see Delete.

But I'm sure that you are asking about the remembered email addresses the the mail app holds on to. Those cannot be deleted. Eventually they will go to the bottom of the remembered list and then they will finally disappear.

OK i went to a SENT email. Then I held down the name of the contact I had sent it to and it opened up their contact details andit gave me an EDIT option. I then deleted the old details and am sorted now. Tried doing same in a NEW email mode but it won't open up the contact there.

If you can't find an old email send a new dummy one so that you can get the contact open.

Surely ther's a simpler way but I couldn't find it ... I tried all of the previously mentioned ways but got nowhere fast. This was the only way i managed
