Settings>General>Restrictions>Allowed Content...it's up to you to set restrictions.
As far as I know there is no filtering when you visit the App Store using the app on the device. But downloading certain content can be restricted in Settings/General/Restrictions, or you can restrict to install apps at all.
Activating the restrictions for app installation will hide the App Store icon.
I understand... I just thought Apple had some restrictions of their own... but I guess they only restrict for copyright, legal, or business issues.
