We have 1080/24 GoPro Hero 2 footage from a helicopter flyover that exhibits rolling shutter waves. We intend to combine it with 1080/30 GoPro Hero 2 ground footage in FCP7.
Is there a way that we can correct the rolling shutter waves in post and successfully convert the 1080/24 to 1080/30?
Not really.
I heard about someone going through a shot and deinterlacing the worst frames, but it took forever and the drops in vertical resolution were more noticable than the jelly effect.

Try using the Deshaker filter in Virtualdub. There are instructions on the Deshaker page (it's Windows, so you'll need a PC or Parallels/VmWare) for calculating the rolling shutter % factor.
