Will not "Enter time machine" ?
when click on top menu bar and to drop down so named...nothing happens??? vicky

Go to time machine in system preferences and see if it will work from there. Or the time machine icon in the dock.. open it there.
If Time Machine is messed up follow the A4 to do a full reset of time machine.

I hope you are meaning time machine and not airport utility to time capsule.. since that is the forum area you are in.
