How do I put pictures on my iPad from my computer?

I recently got the new iPad 3 and I absolutely love it. However, I'm new to Apple's products and I was wondering if someone could help me out with my issue.

How do I move pictures from my laptop (a Sony Vaio using Windows 7) to my iPad 3? When I have plugged my iPad into my computer using the USB cord, I don't see any options on iTunes to put pictures on my computer.

If someone could help me out with this issue I'd greatly appreciate it.

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.

Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).

Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import.

 Cheers, Tom 😉

  1. Connect the iPad to the PC with the cable.
  2. Launch iTunes - if it doesn't start on its own.
  3. If the iPad auto syncs, let the process complete.
  4. Click on the iPad name on the left side under Devices
  5. Click on the Photos tab in the iTunes window on the right - at the top of the window
  6. Click on the Sync Photos heading
  7. Select the folder from which you want to sync photos - on my Mac I use iPhoto
  8. Click on each album, or subfolder that you want to sync from in the main photos folder
  9. Click on Apply in the lower right corner of the iTunes window.
