Q: Playing HD QT movies on G5 and Leopard

I can play SD movies in QT player on my G5 running leopard but QT says I need additional software to run HD movies. QT Player  plays only the sound and no pictures. I have downloaded an Apple Mpeg 2 upagrade, at least I think I have as the download actually says Thank You, but still no improvement,I alsodownloaded something called Streamclip, again no improvement. Any ideas?
