changing user name login picture

hiya friends


im trying to change my main user picture when i log into my imac. i know the procedure but everytime i go to restart my pc or boot it up its the same old display pic of mine. can anyone direct me where im going wrong please - im using mac lion.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Accounts system preferences --> choose the account --> change the picture (click on the picture next to the Change Password button)


You can also drag a picture on to the the frame.

Since I last posted here I have downloaded and used OnyX on 2 computers and it worked beautifully with no foulups. I am using 10.6.8 but they have a Lion compatible on their website and I personally have not seen any postings reporting any trouble with it. Here's the Link:

Well, this just started to happen to me. I'd really like to know how to make it stop. My picture keeps changing to a parrot. When I go to my address card, there's no picture there. But on the user account, it shows the parrot. Here's what I did... we'll see if it works.


  1. Deleted my address book card.
  2. made a new one, including photo
  3. From the menu Card selected "Make this my Card"
  4. quit
  5. User Preferences, deleted photo
  6. somehow got the user account linked to the new "my card" through a lot of clicking and deleting the new one automatically made
  7. made sure that the photos were the same.
