my ipod 4 is detecting in itunes but then when i want to get my video files from the my computer it does not show but sometimes it might and it is getting really annoying it charges and evreything so plaese help it does not even show the icon ipod touch

- Try resetting the iPOd. Nothing is lost

- Try anohter cable
- Try another USB port
- Look at the dock connector in the iPod. Look for missing, bent and corroded contacts and other abnormalities.

well in september last year i dropped my phone in some water and to get the water out i put my ipod in a bowl of salt so salt may have got stuck in the dock connector
Water contact can cause corrosion of internal parts of the iPod over time. The salt can make it worse.
