my ipod was stolen can I retrieve my serial number from Itunes?

My Ipod classic was stolen how can I find the serial number in Itunes to file a report?

iPod classic, Windows XP

Hello:

To my knowledge, Apple does not maintain a database of devices such as yours. Your original receipt would contain the serial number.

You don't need to find it in iTunes. If you registered it, Apple will have a reccord of it. If you purchased it from Apple, you can still see about getting a serial for it.

Did you have applecare or anything else attached to it? Or ever call AppleCare at all?
