Can I send video to my apple tv from my mac using airplay?

I just got an Apple TV and thought I could use Airplay to mirror my Mac on the Apple TV. Is there a way to do this? For example, I want to play a Vudu.com movie full screen on my Mac and have that go onto my TV via Apple TV (since Apple TV does not have a Vudu app built into it). Is this possible?

Also, what about when I want to do powerpoint or Keynote presentations on my TV. Can I do that with my Mac with Apple TV without connecting a cable?

For the first question I hae n idea but I believe the answer is No. For the second question, he you can, use AirPlay mirroring. This help article will show you how

It looks like AirPlay mirroring is included in Mountain Lion, and that is what I am looking for. Also, there is some third party application that lets you do it on the current version of OSX, but it sounds a little buggy at this stage. Hope this helps someone else, and I appreciate your reply Ferretbite.

What is the name of that 3rd party app? I have OSX and am trying to play a video I have on a dvd from my computer to my tv via apple tv. I no longer have a dvd player so this is the only way I can think to do it.
