When I connect my iPhone to my laptop it will show up under iTunes but not under My Computer. I'm assuming it's some sort of USB driver issue but I can't figure out how to fix it.

Edit: I misread. You say it does show up in iTunes but not as a device in My Computer. Don't know the fix for that.

In my case, (i tried everything but nothing was my situation- like device driver etc...) it was the security lock. I did it for the first time, and when it's on, iphone is not appearing. When i disabled it, it worked fine. Such a unbelievable little thing, you never expect to cause a problem...

Please explain about which Security Lock you mean and what has to be done? It's easy to say it is the Security Lock, but where is this Security Lock located? Is it on the iPhone's settings or the computer's operating system?
What has to be done to this Security Lock to make the iPhone appear in Windows Explorer?
How do you make the iphone appear in Windows 7? You need to be more specific.
I can get the phone to show on iTunes only and not in Windows Explorer at all.
I have just had this issue on my iPhone 6.
Turns out, you have to turn your PASSCODE off.
