I've tried everything...they work really well, sound is fabulous, but I can't really get them to pump out the volume...its like there is a built-in max volume governor in the iPad/headphone link. Has anyone ELSE experienced this?

There is a volume limit which you can set for the Music app in Settings > Music - I assume that isn't 'on' ?
King_Penguin...well, it is already set to "max" volume, and the maximum volume I can get, is still pretty "low" (approx a "medium" volume). Don't know if this is a limit on the interface...if I join to my phone with my headphones, much, much louder.
Is there a difference between maximum Bluetooth volume, and max volume when connected via the 3.5mm plug and wire?
with the wire, nice and loud...via bluetooth, much reduced in volume...with a max that is much lower.
Try this: In iTunes, highlight all your music (select all) and right click > Get Info. Click on Options and then under volume adjustment slide the slider all the way to the right for a boost in volume. Click OK, and wait for all the songs to be adjusted. Then re-sync your music.
I have Sennheiser MM400 headphones...and even at MAX volume, they are still pretty quiet. I've checked the volume limits, and there are none...is there a way to get more volume through them?
