On the ipad, I've always been able to save photos in iMessage by holding my finger on it, selecting 'save image', and that's that.
Today I've noticed that holding my finger on the image just highlights the image blue as if it were text, and gives the option to 'copy', not the usual, 'save image' option.
Does anyone know what's happening?

Tap the image to make it full screen and you'll see "Share" icon in the top menu bar. Tap on it to reveal the "Save Image" option.

Thanks, yes that still works, but have you any idea why I would suddenly lose the other shorter option of just doing it by holding down a touch on the image as it is displayed in iMessage?
I don't have the Save Image option with a tap and hold either on my iPhone or iPad. I can only assume, for what ever reason, Apple either missed or removed this feature from the latest version of iOS 5.
Ok, well, thanks for giving it some thought.
I'm quite sure that it did do it until today, oh well.
