Low music quality on the new ipad? And other problems

I am also very disappointed in the quality of the sound on my new iPad, compared to the speaker on my iPad 2! I had to make a decision which was more important to me......the retina display and improved camera or the music. I chose the new iPad, but sad to lose the incredible sound of iPad 2!!

I know of no reason why there would be a difference, especially if you're using external headphones.

I've just bought the new iPad and the sound level when playing music is not very loud and a bit muddy. I was listening to music the other day and started up an app that had sound on it, this came on really loud so I turned it off and straight away the track I was playing was suddenly much louder and clearer. I stopped the track and hit play again and it went back to how it was before. So I launched the app again and it did exactly what it did before, became louder and clearer. I think there's some kind of glitch in the new iPad and will be taking it into an Apple store tomorrow.

The new expensive earphones wont work. I have tested this with Bowers & Wilkins P5. They are the best and one of the most expensive headphones you can get in the market.

The sound was awesome on my iPhone 4 and iPad 2. However starting with iPhone 4S Apple has started to use low power Cirrus Logic Sound Chip. The chip compromises on the loudness without giving up the quality of the music. However I am used to listening at full volumes on my iPhone 4 and iPad 2. The music on the new iPad dusnt really make me happy 😟

Plug the headphones all the way in?

I have no such issues.

Sounds from games, music or video are good, unless the source is not very good.

My Bose Quiet Comfort 15 phones have great sound.

My ultimate ears 600vi sound wonderfull.

I'm using Bose IEs as well as connecting via split cable to the Home stereo. No complaints. Sounds as good as the iPod in the same circumstances. I don't recommend using the preset EQs, however.

The good thing about the QC is the noise cancellation. I can't hear my wife!

Just kidding. I loved them, but not practical for traveling due to the size, and the noise canceling was actually an issue if I tried to use them at work. At home, don't need them, I just head upstairs to the "football" den and close the door.

I got mine after I retired and technically I didn't need them. However, I had a lower-quality Panasonic set that died on me and I missed them for mowing the lawn. That's probably 80% of my usage right now. Now, my wife and I travel a little and it's nice when she wants to watch TV and I just want to relax, possibly with a movie from the iTMS.

They're also nice while driving so that I don't have to put up with all those drivers blowing their horns at me!

Just don't wear them and drive in Florida. A friend of mine was ticketed the other day for wearing headphones while driving. Now....you can text and hold a cell phone while driving all you in Florida. That makes a lot of sense, right?
