How can I get my folders back that I lost in my mail after I updated my Ipad

I doubt you lost anything. In iPad mail, you have Inboxes and below that Accounts. Your individual folders would be found in Accounts section. Once you tap the Mail icon, tap mail until you see the Inboxes and Accounts.
Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank power On again in the normal way.] It is absolutely/appsolutely safe!
I don't see Inboxes and Accounts in the Mail app. Would it be in Settings? Using iOS 8.4. Last night tech support helped me do a Reset to get a deleted Note back (no success) and in the process, I lost the Sent folder. Emails I send need a place to go!
Now, I >have< found Sent folders just now, although an email I wrote this morning isn't there. I'm also not sure whether to look in iCloud or the server name for my email. With a little more specific how-to, I can probably get this. I feel like iCloud is confusing the issue!
