Q: If someone has Final Cut v 10.0.1 on their machine will they be able to open files created in v 10.0.3?

My editor is trying to open one of my Final Cut 10.0.3 projetc files on her macbook which has version 10.0.1 and she keeps getting a perimission denied message. I thought it might be the hard drive itself but she can copy and paste the files and open the media files themselves.

We're stumped. Does anyone have an idea?

thanks.

Apple changed the project file structure with the 10.0.3 upgrade. No earlier version of FCPX will open 10.0.3 files. When you upgraded to 10.0.3 all of your earlier projects were converted and are not compatible with earlier versions. Your editor should upgrade tp the latest version. It is a free upgrade through the App store.
