how can i get my photos that were deleted from my documents unto my iphoto .. i deleted them as a mistake please help

If you deleted them then you deleted them.

Have you a back up?

You can't back up photos that you have deleted.

You can try recover the photos with software like File Salvage

If you want to get serious about backing up your documents including photos, music, etc., get an external hard drive and use Time Machine to do your backing up. The Time Machine application comes with the Mac.

You're confusing back up - which needs you to actually have your photographs - and file recovery which is an attempt to get back the photos you deleted.

Simply you can't back up what you have deleted.

You can try recover it - see my post above - with an app like File Salvage

Care to define this a bit more clearly? Do you mean a fail sign? If so what was the sign? Describe it.

What does the fail sign look like?

Now we're getting somewhere. The ! is an indication that the file path/link between the thumbnails and original files has been broken. In that case try the following: make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:

Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.

Select the options identified in the screenshot.

Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
