i read and updated my software like i was told to and now its wont read or see my printer in system preferences in printers and scan
is there any other way that it can recgonize my printer and add it in ?

If you are still having difficulty then give AppleCare a call and they can help you install the printer. If your machine is less than 90 days old or you have already purchased AppleCare that would be the easiest method. You haven't provided us any useful information such as the version of OS X, iMac model, printer model, etc so we can't really help. You can locate AppleCare's number in your owners manual.

I need the steps after i have turned on my printer and the printer does not have any jams or ink problems. The part i need is how to install the printer. the printer is already installed to my other computers so it is connected to a net work fine... i will give apple care a call tomorrow.
