How can I get another "Start Up" disc to restart my old Mac a G4 os x 10.4.11?

Could a "Verify Disc" problem be setting off a "DNSChanger" warning from my Internet carrier, CenturyLink? DNSChanger Remover tool v. 2 SecureMac 2008 comes up clean each time. I never had a "Start up" CD, and my TDK CD player won't print...

PowerMac, Mac OS X (10.4.11), Verify Disc has a problem

Did you check your Router, I hear some of those can be infected?

If you're using Wifi/Airport, what kind of Encryption is it using?

If Verify Disk reports a problem, try this, but it's not very likely related to the DNS Changer problem...

Does it boot to Single User Mode, CMD+s keys at bootup, if so try...

/sbin/fsck -fy

Repeat until it shows no errors fixed.

(Space between fsck AND -fy important).

Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck...

Apple no longer has or sells 10.4 Discs with slight exceptions if your model came with a Gray Tiger/10.4.x Disc.

See Tom's, (Texas Mac Man), great info on where/how to find/get Tiger...

Or Ali Brown's great info on where/how to find/get Tiger...

BDAqua you are a fsck-ing genius. Thanks, the repair was prefect. I'll have to look into the router as a source for the DNSChanger Virus. Thanks so much... I'll let you know if I can find a freebie (I like free) virus removal tool for the router (I guess that's what I need to do). Bump to you /b/ro (that's 4Chan junk)

Great to hear the Disk is good to go now! 🙂

We still need to know if your Router is Wifi & the encryption it uses, it's possible someone else is using your Wifi if Open or only WEP.
