Bootcamp -- Windows 7 64-bit 0x80070570 Error During Installation

Hello Apple community,

I am trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on my Late 2011 early 2012 MacBook Pro 15 inch. I go through the Bootcamp process, insert the installation disc everything works fine up to the part when Windows is Expanding Files. It stays at 0% for at least 2-5 minutes and then it hits 1% and comes up with the error: "Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070570." I have tried installing Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit and it works flawlessly. To me it makes no sense at why the 64-bit wouldn't work. I have tried different burnspeeds all the way from x16 down to x2 and non of them work.

The very frustrating part is it worked perfectly fine in a Virtual Machine (Parallels). I have even tried to put the Windows Iso file on a USB but macs for some reason don't want to recognize the USB to install from that. When I got my Mac I had it upgraded to 8gb's of RAM. Im not sure if that would have anything to do with it or not. I have Lion 10.7.3 If anyone has any advice please help me out. I really would like to have the capability to dual boot with 64-bit to utalize the full 8gbs of ram and not just 2.16 of it with 32-bit. I have also heard of people trying different dvd's and for some people that works and some people it doesn't. I will be trying that tomorrow will re-post to see if that fixes it, but it wouldn't make sense for the 32-bit to work and the 64 not to work. I have also tried re-downloading the Iso at least 4 times now. I have burned well over 10 discs and I only have so many left.

Thanks,

John

# of ideas - usbs, burn speed, disk check etc. here though Windows PCs, see similar problems in this forum.

On the Mac side do you have any Boot Diagnostics on 8GB memory - maybe try removing some of it?

There is a long thread on editing plist to try to add USB DVD support like the Air has.

Not everyone is successful.

DVD has to be written or burned at slowest speed to function and get a good install (install and fail is common otherwise).

Run Memtest from Windows DVD or OS X terminal. you can run 32 terminal windows concurrently to test 256MB chunks of your 8GB RAM and do 4 loops in short period.

Thank you for the advice to do a Memtest. Here are the unfortuante results which I think means I need to take out some RAM and see if that fixs this issue? I will try this similar Memtest on a Friends Mac and see if it works flawlessly. Hopefully this is the issue, if so I will be very very happy. Right now I'll mark "This helped me" but if it does fix it, I'll re-mark it to "This solved my question" to get you the points you deserve.
