My 9 year old son locked himself out of his ipod, it says to connect to itunes. The only advice I can find on here is to reset the ipod which in turn deletes everything that was downloaded unless you use computer where you last synched ipod.

I do not have same computer. How can I reset the ipod without losing all of his stored downloads?

iPod touch (4th generation)

Hi...

If you can't remember the Passcode, you need to restore the device from the computer it was last synced with.

Follow the instructions for putting the device in recovery mode >

iOS: Unable to update or restore

"If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Follow the instructions for placing the device in recovery mode here > iOS: Unable to update or restore

iTunes purchases can be re downloaded for free using the same Apple ID that was used for the original purchases > Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

what i usually do is

plug into iTunes

right click the ipod and make a backup

put it in restore mode

restore the IOS

restore from backup from iTunes

all your stuff is there and it would ask you to enter a new passcode

one thing about manuely adding the apps is it wont store your save games, only in backups and iCloud it will
