Ripple edit using keyboard shortcuts

I like to use keyboard shortcuts (v, u and [/]) to make a ripple edit on the timeline. However when I am doing a ripple edit on the outgoing clip (left side), my Canvas only shows the first frame of the incoming clip. I have to move the playhead manually to the last frame of the outgoing clip after every ripple edit to see where I am. This is very cumbersome. Is there a way to see the last frame of the outgoing clip in the Canvas while doing ripple edit using keyboard shortcuts? Thanks in advance.

If the two clips are butted together and the playhead is on the edit point, hit "previous frame". It is the left arrow on the keyboard. This will move the playhead one frame to the left, which should be the last frame of the outgoing clip.

If there is a gap and your playhead is between the two clips, use "previous edit". It is the up arrow on the keyboard. This will take you to the last frame before the gap.

That is what I have been doing, but I don't want to manually move playhead to the previous frame using left arrow key. I want the canvas to automatically update to the new last frame of the outgoing clip when I ripple edit using '[' and ']' keys. Similar to what happens when I am doing a ripple edit/trim on incoming clip. Please try doing ripple edit using the v, u and '[]' keys and you would understand what I mean.

The system is designed so that the playhead always displays the next frame from its position. This means, if you go to "next edit" to place the playhead between the two clips, it will always display the head frame of the incoming clip. There is no way to change that.

What you want is for the playhead to be 1 frame before the edit and the only way I know how to do is to move it to that point. fwiw - you could also type -1 when the playhead is at the edit point to move the playhead one frame to the left, but simply hitting a left arrow would be faster.
