Q: How can I change the iCloud appleID?

I have changed my appleID for iTunes and it isn't updating on my iCloud. Is there a way to upset it?

    If the iTunes store isn't working, try going to Settings>iTunes & App Store, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in.  You may also want to try your iPad on a different wifi network to see if you're having networking issues.  Try, for example, going to My Apple ID on your iPad.  This will determine whether or not you can open a secure website.

    If multiple problems continue to persist on your iPad you may need to restore it.  However, if you're running iOS 7 with Find My iPad enabled, you won't be able to restore it without turning off Find My iPad unless you force it into recovery mode to do so (see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808).  This will erase all data on the iPad so you would have to restore an existing backup after restoring it, if you have one.  Also, if you purchased it from a previous owner, you may encounter activation lock, which will require the ID and password used to originally activate the iPad unless the former owner has removed it from their account.  If you don't have this, the iPad will not reactivate and will be rendered useless.

    If you have a recent backup, and you are the only owner of your iPad, you can try forcing it into recovery mode to restore it.  Your other option of course would be to contact Apple support for assistance to see if they have any suggestions.

    Deleting the iCloud account will only delete photo stream photos.  To avoid losing them, save them to your camera roll before deleting the account.

    I've been struggling with this issue for over an hour now. The post below has instructions;

    iOS 7: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud

    As mentioned above, the first two suggestions don't seem to work. On the third suggestion, it says that you do not need to verify the address to temporarily change it back to the original Apple ID address - but this was not true in my case. When I tried to change the Apple ID back to my old email address (which I no longer have access to) - it asked me to verify it and I couldn't.

    So I'm stuck. All of the apps on my iPad OTHER than iCloud are pointing to my updated Apple ID, but I can't seem to find a way to get the AppleID on iCloud changed. Note this all happend when I upgraded to iOS7.1 (from iOS 6.x).

    Is the old ID an earlier version of your new ID, or is your new ID and entirely new ID that was never associated with the old email address before?

    The old ID is a version of my new ID. I just changed the e-mail address to a new address. All of the Apple apps updated to this new address except for iCloud. I can not get verification e-mails on the old e-mail address and I don't remember what the password was for it.

    Then you shouldn't need to verify the old address.  You should only need to tap edit next to the primary email address associated with your new ID, then change it back to your old email address.  If it's asking you to verify the old address, ignore it.  Just make the change, then try using the password associated with your new ID to delete the existing account from your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID.

    This is documented in Apple's support article under "Change your Apple ID temporarily" here: iOS 7: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud.
