Alternative to Logic pro for mixing 5.1 surround

Exactly what the title says. I want to be able to mix 5.1 surround and have different instruments assigned to different channels. I'm very new to this stuff although I've had experience working in rtv. This is just for fun - not work related. My end result would be a dts wav file that can be burned onto a dvd or cd.
