I have an icon thats appeared in finder ..i don't know where its come from and what its for. It doesn't respond in any way when I click it.How do I get rid of it?

Can you describe (or post a screenshot of) the icon, and exactly what you mean by 'appeared in Finder'?
Do a 'get info' on it. Who published it? Is it an alias?
Thanks for the reply. By 'appear in the finder' I mean.. I opened the finder and it was there as part of the side bar ..calling itself 'rosenthal catalog'

Thanks Gary .. but thats my problem . I can't just drag it off. I can't drag it to my trash and when I bring up a context menu its just the side bar properties .. which doesn't have the icon there to alter. When I try and drag it away it just springs back.
Have you tried Command-Delete?
I can't select it .. I click on it and nothing happens. The only thing I seem to be able to do is a two fingered click which brings up a context menu for the side bar preferences..but unfortunately this icon does not appear in the list.
Does CMD+drag work?

Some earlier versions of the OS didn't require the CMD key, they just drug off too easily.
