Why do all iWork programs beep when I type?

Why do all iWork programs beep when I type? The software was purchased from the APP Store. It is making the products unusable! I cannot find a solution anywhere online.

iWork-OTHER, Mac OS X (10.7.3), iWork programs beep

It is because you have opened a Page layout document uses text boxes for text. Open instead a Word processing document and you can write as you expect to. If you look in the New Template Choosers sidebar you'll see there are two types of documents.

Also download the Pages User Guide from your Pages Help menu. Chapter 1 does explain about the two types of documents.

OK, I do not want another account but I just tried setting up another account and went through the process of using with my serial number their to set it up. It is not beeping in that account...progress!! But I do not want to move 100s of applications and 10,000s of files? Is there a solution in my existing account? What do you think is the cause? Thanks BTW

Because I bought iWork family pack 09 on disc. It asked for it. I have version 4.1 (923)

iWork requires a registration/serial number only to activate the downloaded trial version. The retail box version, with either the single user or the family licence, does not require a serial number, nor is one supplied with that version.

If any of the iWork applications are asking for a serial number, it is because you have, at some time, downloaded the thirty day trial version, and have not deleted it and any supporting files created by the applications before installing the retail box version.

The safest and most certtain way to remove the trial version is to use the AppleScript available in the public area of Yvan Koenig's Box account. Go to For_iWork'09 > Other_iWork'09 items > uninstall_iWork'09.zip

The key here is to make sure you have the means to reinstall after deleting what's on your machine now.

If you DO have a disk, then proceed with the uninstall, then reinstall from the disk, then use Software update to bring iWork up to the most current version for your OS.

If you purchased from the Mac app store, the individual applications should be listed in your purchases. If so, go ahead with the uninstall, then reinstall the apps you've purchased by downloading them again from the app store. App store purchases may be installed on any compatible device assigned to the same Apple ID. There is no serial number involved.

You will have a disk only if you purchased the retail box version (with either the single or family licence). This does not require a serial number.
