I am dearly looking to find the correct button combination on my iMac keyboard (including number pad on the right) for the "PAUSE" button on the windows keyboard.

unfortunately no. not this pause typ of thing. on my windows pc at work I use this Pause key in order to switch in a different mode, that is just the way this certain program works. and now on my new imac, if I want to use the same program, I cannot to so, as I am unable to switch the mode.
therefore I would really be glad if I could find an answer.

If you're running Windows in Boot Camp, you can get the Pause/Break key by pressing fn + esc.

Command-period (Command plus the period key) is a very common "stop it" or "stop what you're doing" command in Mac programs.
If that's not it, examine all the menu items for your program; perhaps such a key command instruction will be listed. That program's Help may also provide that info.
I have solved the problem: I changed the key settings in my program at work. instead of the windows "pause" key, I changed this particular function to the "num" key and now it works (with the num-key).....thanks for you help
If you are talking about pause as in play/pause of a video clip or iTunes song, then it's usually the space bar.
