MP3 files not showing in iTunes after importing from Windows PC

I have my MP3 music files saved on my computer. For some reason when I try to import a particular folder to iTunes Library, only 3 of the 11 files in the folder show up. Why aren't the other 8 showing up? Can anybody help me with this?

Windows PC-OTHER, Windows 7

For one of the problem files, right-click it and choose Open With > iTunes.

If the file is compatible, it will start playing and be added to the library.

If iTunes "errors silently" (i.e. does nothing) it means the file is incompatible. If you are sure it is a valid MP3, treat it with a 3rd party tag cleanup program such asMp3Val. That usually suffices to make iTunes happy.
