Outlook recurring events not showing in calendar

Syncing my iPhone to MS Exchange.

I see in Outlook 2010 calendars, all the recurring events I have.

In particular, I see some birthdays in the current week, but on my iPhone 4s, running IOS 5.1, I only see a couple.

More explicitly, there are 2 birthdays on the day that I am writing this question, only one shows on the iPhone.

Also, one for tomorrow does not show, nor does an anniversary 2 days after that.

There is no obvious reason for some to show and others to not show.

Additionally, birthdays do not show up in 'Day' view, only in 'List' and 'Month' view.

I have tried deleting my Exchange account and re-adding it.

I have changed all birthdays from 'Private' to 'Normal' confidentiality

I have tried editing events which don't show on the iPhone, in an attempt to make them appear.

I can see appointments I create on the iPhone, in Outlook within seconds.

I delete a test appointment in Outlook and it will disappear on the iPhone.

I am at a loss.

An explanation, or preferably, a fix, would be appreciated.

EDIT:

I found that 'recurring events which are ALL Day Events' do not show on the iPhone.

However, I can search for the event and find it, even though it does not display!

Well, I tried searching for and editing an all day event.

I fiddled and played then cancelled.

Now, I can see all the All day events in my calendar and all the OTHER events have disappeared!

Then, I pressed 'Today' and all the all-day events disappeared and all the others returned!

Now, if I could only figure out how to make this happend reliably, I will be sort of happy.

I would rather see them all at the same time.

Got exactly the same problem on my iPhone4 running iOS 5.0.1. Additionally some all-day calendar events show multiple times. So, to conclude, some all-day events don't show at all while some others double or triple. From Outlook all is fine. Found that when I create an all-day event directly on the iPhone (or iPad) then it works fine for that particular event both on the iDevice and Outlook (using Outlook2007). I'd really like to avoid deleting ALL my all-day events from Outlook only to recreate them all on the iPhone to have them show up fine both on device and Outlook !!!

Apple, please HELP us here!!!

I guess I should add that I have configured my birthdays as annual repeating events in Outlook, they are not done via a birthdate in contacts.

I have a similiar issue. My events created on my iPhone show up there and on my iPad but not in Outlook 2007. My events created in Outlook 2007 do not show up on my ios devices. This just started recently. I am wondering if it is due to a recent iTunes update.

Does anyone know if this has been fixed in the new IOS release?

Or, workaround, short of creating a contact for every birthday and putting the birthday in there (I would prefer not to do this).

I really find it annoying that these events don't show up.

You can edit your contact in the details tab for the contact in outlook Click the drop down for birthday & make recurring, set a reminder then save & close. The birthday will show up in your outlook calendar. Do a sync & it should show up on your iPhone birthday calendar. Make sure you do not hide the birthday calendar. Those are the only recurring events that sync for my. Some normal events don't sync either. I think it started recently with an iTunes update or possibly an office update. I gave up. My iPhone & my iPad match but they don't match with outlook. I sync with USB via iTunes & backup to pc.

I use Recurring Events to record birthdays, amongst other things.

Not all birthdays have associated contacts.

What about the events that are not birthdays? I have Anniversaries and other annual recurring events, they also do not show up.

Upon reflection, I think the problem lies in the fact that the events where defined ages ago and fall outside of the 'sync' window.

Yes, all of my recurring events that do sync were created years ago in Outlook and I had no problem syncing them to my Blackberry Bold way back when. Initially when I got my iphone 4, everything synced both ways and then this year I got an iPad and intitally everything synced with it via iTunes/outlook with no problem. I've only noticed this problem within the last month or so and it drove me crazy. I reset both my ios devices but I refuse to uninstall and reinstall Outlook or iTunes. I've seen tons of posts on here that say it afffects the cloud, exchange servers and itunes so it's not just us. I've sent feedback to Apple and received no response. Others have too. Apple is aware of it and doesn't have a clue what to do about it. It now affects other events for me so I'm thinking maybe it has to do with default reminders and other things between Outlook and the ios devices. Maybe and update to iTunes or ios6 will change that, who knows. I still love my iPhone and would't go back to Blackberry; it's just way to slow for me.
