Opening KML in Google Earth

Ages ago I answered someone who had asked how to open a KML file in Google Earth on the iPad. Well, I've not only forgotten how to do it myself but using the 'My Stuff' search doesn't find the thread! (I had an access problem many months ago and had to change my username, so maybe that explains it.)

Anyway, can someone tell me how to do it please? I've uploaded the KML to my Dropbox web site, and I can get it into Dropbox and expected that Goodreader on my iPad (version 1) would then be able to open it in GE, but that isn't happening. I'm sure it's relatively simple, or I wouldn't have been able to do it a year or so ago.

Things have changed a bit since, and all you have to do on getting the 'Cannot Open ' message in Dropbox, is to click the top right icon which now does offer a GE option.
