Is Virus Barrier x6 any good for virus protection/

For a Mac no virus protection is needed. Virus protection software even may slow down the system.

If you use Windows you may need virus protection.

I have never used it personally. I have seen people here having kernel panics, and removing VB cured the problem. But then, that's not good data, because I don't know how many people might be using it with no problems, and why those kernel panics might be occurring.

Keep away from Intego Virus Barrier. These antivirus patches do not help much, other than creating problems.

Some use ClamXav,but again. I do not use it.

Install all Security Updates provided by Apple.
