Mobile Account Issue with 10.7.3 OD/AD environment.

I'm struggling to get Mobile accounts working with Lion that work just fine with the same server settings on 10.6.8. I've pointed the Lion client at a 10.6.8 server which works fine with our Snow Leopard Macs, I've also replicated these settings on a 10.7.3 server in Profile Manager and Workgroup Manager, obviously not at the same time.

It is a AD for authentication, OD for management.

The first time a user logs in everything works as expected, the problem happens there after when trying to login:

- user logs in with their AD details

- homesync status window appears connecting to network home

- then another window appears with the following 'NetAuthSysAgent wants to use the "login" keychain'

- However it won't allow me to type the password in.

- I have to move the NetAuthSysAgent window out of the way, cancel the homesync status window, then anther window appears letting me know Home sync has failed and do I want to continue.

- Continue on and the account opens and all syncing while logged in and at logout is fine.

Thank you in advance for any thoughts.

Just want to add up the numbers here. We have exactly the same problem, using MacOSX 10.8.1 and Windows AD environment. I have contacted Apple support about the issue and they are not able to give any support in this matter, just asking me to "keep an eye on the community". To me this defect is both severe and ugly since we are talking about a dialog that is not possible to make active.

Unfortunately I have no idea why this problem occur more than that the NetAuthSysAgent wants to access some certificate in the keychain.

I've seen the error popping up, too, on a Mac running 10.8.1 connected to a server running 10.8.1 w/ OpenDirectory but no AD. I did this (in Terminal.app) I found that I had 3 kerberos-related plist files in /private/var/db/dslocal/nodes/Default/config/ which had not been updated for a while, so I deleted them to let OSX recreate them.

$ sudo -i

$ cd /private/var/db/dslocal/nodes/Default/config/

$ rm *.plist

$ reboot

Haven't seen the error ever since. HTH. Regards,

Christian
