Q: How to collapse a multicam clip

I am trying to color grade a multicam edit exporting from fcpx to da Vinci.

This would only be possible if I have a flat timeline. I could not find a way to flatten or collapse my multicam.

Hm, I've done this before with R3D files.

Okay, not thoroughly checked but maybe this is how.

You can edit in FCPX using multicam function (even the cams are not synchronized upon shooting).  FCPX's creation of multicam clip will let you use the automatic synchronization of the clips by audio will work most of the time.

Edit using the multicam clip.  After you are done editing, you can export the timelipne with XML.

Purchase the Xto7 for Final Cut Pro on AppStore.

Convert the FCPX XML to FCP7 XML.

    Import in Resolve.

    There you go.

Perfect solution!  Thanks.  This saved me a ton of time.  Apple still needs a 'collapse multiclip' function, though.

Be sure to flatten your sequence in fcpx
