    • Reset the phone: Hold HOME and SLEEP until an Apple logo appears (10-20 seconds)
    • Settings/General/Reset - Reset Network Settings
    • If WiFi is greyed out, see: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559
    • Restore the phone with iTunes
    • If it still doesn't work, Restore again, this time set up as a new phone

If you still have the problem your phone is broken. Take it to an Apple store for replacement.

Whats the actual error message that you're getting before looking into trying to fix it? Do you even see the Wifi Network on your iPhone and, if so, do you have the right passphrases to access it.

I have the same problem. The error message I get is "could not scan for wireless networks". I don't see any networks, it doesn't find any. I enter the right info for my home wifi, wpa2 user and pass and it gives that error message. I've tried ALL troubleshooting, restored about 3 times. I couldn't set up as a new phone because it said no service, it wouldn't connect to wifi anyway...

    Guessing it's a "bad phone".

I have been having this same problem since the ios5 update. Believe me I have tried all of the recommended changes including setting it as a new phone. Still having the same problem. However today I decided off hand to try turning my phone on airplane mode to see if that did anything. Would you believe that as soon as I did that it connected to the Wifi immeditately. This problem doesn't occur at work or at home only it is every where. I can't even connect to the wifi at Starbucks. I'm not sure why 1 would block the other as they're suppose to work together to give the best connecion, but mine is not.

Not sure what else I'm suppose to do with it, but the phone is new. I've only had it since February.

What you are supposed to do is to call Apple support or visit the Genius bar at an Apple store and get the phone replaced. It's broken, and it's under warranty.

my IPHONE 4Gs has the same problem, it hasn't been detecting any WI-FI Networks. I've tried everything I don't know what to do because nothing doesn't work, only appears choose a network and the symbol of searching. what can I do? I was listening music when suddenly the wifi went off. I turned it off and on the phone then I put it in airplane mode and doing the same process many many times I also reset the phone and nothing. the worst is I'm living in Peru right now, and I got the Iphone in USA.I'm hopeless somebody can help me?

Does BlueTooth work? I ask because BT and WiFi use the same chip. Have you seen this tip from Apple? - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559

The system asks for a password, which their is not one, and My husbands phone works fine? No Password?
