Trying to download iTunes 10.6.1.7, but keep ending up with 10.6.0.40??
My other two PC's downloaded the new version, but not this PC. Tried Rebooting, D/L using Chrome (up to date) & IE8.
I realize I could just transfer the new iTunes version from one of my other PC's to this one, but I've never had this issue since iTunes 4.5.

Could you walk us through what happens when you try to do the update on that PC, please?
I always go to
www.apple.com/itunes/download/
to d/l the newest version. After it downloads, I right click on 'properties' and check the version, and on this PC it always reports that I have 10.6.0.40 instead of the newest version. Therefore, I have never executed this file to update iTunes.
**UPDATE: I just tried downloading it again before replying to you (I have been trying on and off for over a week with the same results), and this time I now have 10.6.1.7. So all is well.
Ghost in the machine I guess...
