The close, minimize, maximize buttons are suddenly gone on my MacBook Pro. How do I get them back?

I am unable to close safari unless I right click on the safari icon and cannot minimize any of the tabs. How can I get the close, minimize and maximize buttons back?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Aah, you clicked on the zoom icon (looks like two arrows pointing to the upper right and lower left corners) on the upper right corner of Safari's window! That caused the app to go into full screen mode and, hence, the colored lozenges were unnecessary and disappeared. New Lion Safari "feature". Press Esc to exit and return to regular mode.

No, just down the Safari installer with Safari, quit Safari and run the Safari installer. 😝

I would install Firefox before running the Safari installer, you don't want to wind up with no working browsers on your computer. Plus you might like it, it's highly customizable more add-ons than anyone.

Check your plug-ins (Flash etc) at the same page.

We are getting efficient. 🙂

I downloaded and installed Firefox. All is well there. However, after downloading Safari, it won't let me install it. When asked where I want to install it, I have the message "Safari can't be installed on this disk. This volume already has a newer version of Safari installed." Sigh. I really appreciate your guidance. I'm flying blind here as I'm the only one in the house who has a Mac. 😟

And I never answered your earlier question. Yes, Safari is the only application where these buttons have disappeared.
