recently upgraded my network to a 300mbs fiber optic option. i am able to connect to the internet via the standard wi-fi hub provided by my service provider. my timecapsule it is trying to use a self defined IP address, thus not able to connect to internernet. I tried using ethernet also and get the same problem, i did the same with my wife's and my own macbook's... same problem.

here is the clincher... as soon as i use my work laptop (it's a dell pc) to use the ethernet to connect, it works perfectly - what to do with my apple tech?

Time Capsule 802.11n (3rd Gen)

Okay - saw on another thread (can't remember who's - sorry) that a reset would do the job.

1) powered down broadband modem and timecapsule

2) powered up the tc

3) pushed the reset button on the back of the tc...gave it like 10mins

4) powered up the bb modem

5) connected the ethernet cables - did nothing... then for good measure i did the reset again.

6) bada bing it all started working nicely

problem solved... though have not had the gumtion to test the ethernet situation for the internet. will do so later and revert
