Importing bookmarks/Firefox-Safari

I've done this before but I cannot remember how I did it.

I would like to import my firefox bookmarks to my safari bookmarks. But for the life of me I cannot remember how I did this.

Any and all help would be great.

Thanks

Safari lets oyu import bookmarks from a file using the file/import bookmarks command.

However, it looks for an HTML file, and typically Firefox savs a Java/JSON file.

So you need to export your firefox bookmarks into an HTML file. You'll have to rummage around int he firefox menues to do that. I can tell you this, you "show all bookmarks" and its one of the icons int he window header, not a regular pull-down menu.

Hello,

I dont quite follow. You are importing into Safari, correct?

If so, you select import bookmarks. A standard file location/selection dialog box appears and you need to navigate to the place where you (yes, you) EXPORTED the bookmarks from whatever - maybe Firefox, maybe another version of Safari. It must be saved in HTML format. Select it, and import.

Then go to Bookmarks --> show all bookmarks. They should be in a folder on the left with a title like "imported today".

Does this answer your question? It was pretty vague...a word or words seemed to be missing, maybe from editing.

I see nothing below. What exactly is "all my files"?

Maybe something in Lion ( i dont use Lion). But really, it does not matter. Are you opening the standard Mac open/save dialog? What directory is it opening to? Do you have the dialog box expanded so you can navigate to where you left the file? Remember, you saved the file. You have to knwo exactly where - what drive, what directory, what sub-directory etc. Only you know this. Then you must navigate to that exact location.

See the opn dialkog below. All the files you see are greyed out because noen are HTML (there are HLTM safari files further down and they are black)
