iCloud on my iPhone 3G stopped working.. email address expired

my me.com account, which I transfered to icloud stopped working on my iphone 3g last wednesday.

I am talking about the email functionality.

I used my me.com email address form my paid mobileme acocunt. I migrated to icloud. All was working fine. (including my iphone 3g)

On al my other devices everything is still working fine.

On my iphone 3g I get the message you me.com email address has expired?!

any thought anyone?
